There were more female professionals in ACT peri-urban area in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in ACT peri-urban area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (172 females or 27.8%)
  • Managers (141 females or 22.8%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (128 females or 20.7%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 441 females in total or 71.2% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Gundaroo and District employed 29.8% in Professionals; 24.8% in Managers; and 18.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of ACT peri-urban area and Gundaroo and District were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (20.7% compared to 18.2%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (7.1% compared to 5.3%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (27.8% compared to 29.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Managers (22.8% compared to 24.8%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed females in ACT peri-urban area increased by 82 between 2011 and 2021.

There were no major differences in ACT peri-urban area between 2011 and 2021.
