Dominant groups

Analysis of household income levels for Chinese languages speakers households in the City of Whitehorse in 2021 compared to Greater Melbourne shows that there was a similar proportion of Chinese languages speakers in high income households (those earning $3,000 per week or more) as well as a similar proportion of low income households (those earning less than $800 per week).

Overall, 24.1% of Chinese languages speakers were in households who earned a high income, and 19.8% were in low income households, compared with 24.1% and 19.4% respectively for Greater Melbourne.

There were no major differences between City of Whitehorse and Greater Melbourne in 2021.
