Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Blackburn in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (813 females or 21.8%)
  • Education and Training (577 females or 15.5%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (434 females or 11.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,824 females in total or 49.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, the City of Whitehorse employed 22.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 14.5% in Education and Training; and 10.1% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Blackburn and the City of Whitehorse were:
