Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Burwood in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:
- Health Care and Social Assistance (849 people or 14.3%)
- Retail Trade (695 people or 11.7%)
- Education and Training (636 people or 10.7%)
In combination, these three industries employed 2,180 people in total or 36.8% of the total employed resident population.
In comparison, Victoria employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.4% in Retail Trade; and 8.8% in Education and Training.
The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Burwood and Victoria were:
