Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Ashby in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (167 females or 25.3%)
  • Education and Training (82 females or 12.4%)
  • Retail Trade (80 females or 12.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 329 females in total or 49.8% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Eglinton employed 29.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 12.4% in Education and Training; and 12.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Ashby and Eglinton were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in professional, scientific and technical services (6.4% compared to 3.1%)
