Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Wanneroo in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (14,616 people or 14.0%)
  • Construction (12,246 people or 11.7%)
  • Retail Trade (10,825 people or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 37,687 people in total or 36.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.9% in Construction; and 8.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Wanneroo and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in construction (11.7% compared to 8.9%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (10.3% compared to 8.9%)
