Dominant groups

Analysis of the family blending in Moyhu and King Valley in 2021 compared to the Rural City of Wangaratta shows that there was a similar proportion of step families as well as a similar proportion of blended families. Overall, 7.6% of total couple families with children were step families, and 2.2% were blended families, compared with 7.7% and 4.8% respectively for the Rural City of Wangaratta.

There were a higher proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 2.2% compared to 1.1% in the Rural City of Wangaratta while the proportion of intact families was 88.1% compared to 86.4% in the Rural City of Wangaratta.
