Dominant groups

Analysis of individual income levels in Tasmania in 2021 compared to the City of Launceston shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a similar proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).

Overall, 7.6% of the population earned a high income, and 35.3% earned a low income, compared with 7.0% and 35.1% respectively for the City of Launceston.

There were no major differences between Tasmania and City of Launceston in 2021.
