Analysis of individual income levels in SSROC region in 2021 compared to Burwood Council Area shows that there was a higher proportion of people earning a high income (those earning $2,000 per week or more) and a lower proportion of low income people (those earning less than $500 per week).
Overall, 18.3% of the population earned a high income, and 28.6% earned a low income, compared with 11.5% and 33.8% respectively for Burwood Council Area.
The major differences between SSROC region's individual incomes and Burwood Council Area's individual incomes were:
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $3,500 or more (5.9% compared to 2.9%)
- A larger percentage of persons who earned $2,000 - $2,999 (9.8% compared to 6.9%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned Negative Income/ Nil income (9.7% compared to 12.4%)
- A smaller percentage of persons who earned $500 - $649 (6.2% compared to 8.2%)
