Analysis of the male five year age groups of Bayside Council area in 2021 compared to SSROC region shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.6% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 13.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.2% and 14.0% respectively for SSROC region.
The major differences between the male age structure of Bayside Council area and SSROC region were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (10.7% compared to 9.5%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (10.4% compared to 9.4%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 20 to 24 (8.2% compared to 7.4%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (4.6% compared to 5.3%)
