Analysis of the male five year age groups of Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.3% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 13.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.0% and 16.3% respectively for Australia.
The major differences between the male age structure of Inner West Council area and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (9.9% compared to 7.2%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (9.2% compared to 7.1%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (9.1% compared to 7.2%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 15 to 19 (4.3% compared to 6.0%)
