Analysis of the male five year age groups of Burwood Council Area in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a similar proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 12.0% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 13.8% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.2% and 14.1% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the male age structure of Burwood Council Area and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 20 to 24 (13.3% compared to 6.8%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (12.6% compared to 7.6%)
- A larger percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (10.3% compared to 7.9%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 5 to 9 (4.0% compared to 6.5%)
