Analysis of the male five year age groups of Inner West Council area in 2021 compared to the City of Sydney shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) as well as a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 15.3% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 13.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 7.4% and 9.3% respectively for the City of Sydney.
The major differences between the male age structure of Inner West Council area and the City of Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 10 to 14 (5.0% compared to 1.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (9.2% compared to 15.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 30 to 34 (9.9% compared to 16.0%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 20 to 24 (6.1% compared to 9.3%)
