Analysis of the unpaid domestic work performed by the male population in SSROC region in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney shows that there was a lower proportion of males who performed 15 hours or more of unpaid domestic work per week.
Overall, 11% of the male population reported performing 15 hours or more of unpaid domestic work, compared with 11.9% for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the share of the male population performing unpaid domestic work in SSROC region and Greater Sydney were:
- A larger percentage of males who did less than 5 hours of domestic work (24.2% compared to 23.5%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did between 15 and 29 hours of domestic work (7.4% compared to 8.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did unpaid domestic work (total) (61.2% compared to 61.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did 30 hours or more of domestic work (3.2% compared to 3.8%)
