Analysis of the unpaid domestic work performed by the male population in SSROC region in 2021 compared to Australia shows that there was a lower proportion of males who performed 15 hours or more of unpaid domestic work per week.
Overall, 11% of the male population reported performing 15 hours or more of unpaid domestic work, compared with 12.0% for Australia.
The major differences between the share of the male population performing unpaid domestic work in SSROC region and Australia were:
- A larger percentage of males who did no unpaid domestic work (32.0% compared to 29.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did unpaid domestic work (total) (61.2% compared to 63.8%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did between 15 and 29 hours of domestic work (7.4% compared to 8.1%)
- A smaller percentage of males who did between 5 and 14 hours of domestic work (26.4% compared to 27.1%)
