Analysis of the car ownership of the households in the City of Canterbury Bankstown in 2021 compared to Bayside Council area shows that 82.0% of the households owned at least one car, while 10.9% did not, compared with 80.0% and 14.0% respectively in Bayside Council area.
Of those that owned at least one vehicle, there was a smaller proportion who owned just one car; a larger proportion who owned two cars; and a larger proportion who owned three cars or more.
Overall, 37.0% of the households owned one car; 29.4% owned two cars; and 15.6% owned three cars or more, compared with 44.2%; 25.7% and 10.1% respectively for Bayside Council area.
