Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Serpentine area in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Education and Training (71 females or 13.1%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (69 females or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (60 females or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 200 females in total or 36.9% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Australia employed 13.2% in Education and Training; 23.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 10.6% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Serpentine area and Australia were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (6.1% compared to 1.5%)
