Dominant groups
Analysis of the five year age groups for low income households in the City of Ryde in 2021 compared to Greater Sydney, shows that there was a similar proportion of people in low income households in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion in the older age groups (65+).
Overall, 12.1% of people in low income households were aged between 0 and 15, and 37.5% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 19.8% and 32.6% respectively for Greater Sydney.
The major differences between the five year age groups of low income households in the City of Ryde and Greater Sydney were:
