Dominant groups
The size of City of Port Phillip's non-English speaking labour force in 2021 was 13,502 persons, of which 4,165 were employed part-time and 7,789 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) of non-English speakers in City of Port Phillip in 2021 compared to the total population in City of Port Phillip shows that there was a lower proportion in employment, and a higher proportion unemployed. Overall, 94.0% of the non-English speaking labour force was employed, and 3.4% unemployed, compared with 95.5% and 2.6% respectively for the total population in City of Port Phillip.
Analysis of the non-English speaking labour force participation rate of the population in City of Port Phillip in 2021 shows that there was a similar proportion in the labour force (71.0%) compared with the total population in City of Port Phillip (70.7%).
