Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Shire of Northam in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (583 people or 12.7%)
  • Retail Trade (481 people or 10.5%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (427 people or 9.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,491 people in total or 32.5% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Regional WA employed 11.4% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.3% in Retail Trade; and 5.7% in Public Administration and Safety.
