Dominant groups
Analysis of the ancestry responses of the population in North Sydney Council area in 2021 shows that the top five ancestries nominated were:
- English (23,185 people or 33.6%)
- Australian (15,773 people or 22.9%)
- Irish (8,922 people or 12.9%)
- Chinese (7,455 people or 10.8%)
- Scottish (7,111 people or 10.3%)
In combination these five ancestries account for 62,446 responses in total, or 90.57% of all responses.
The major differences between the ancestries of the population in North Sydney Council area and Mosman Council area were:
