Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Newport in 2016 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Managers (288 people or 19.5%)
- Professionals (287 people or 19.4%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (272 people or 18.4%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 847 people in total or 57.3% of the employed resident population.
In comparison, Cashmere - Clear Mountain employed 15.8% in Managers; 22.6% in Professionals; and 16.8% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
