Location and boundaries

Narangba is bounded by Caboolture River Road, the locality of Upper Caboolture, Burpengary Creek, Oakey Flat Road, the locality of Morayfield and the Bruce Highway in the north, the Caboolture River, Little Burpengary Creek, the locality of Deception Bay and the Bruce Highway in the east, Boundary Road, Narangba Road and the locality of Kurwongbah in the south, and the localities of Rush Creek, King Scrub and Ocean View in the west.

Settlement history

Settlement of the area dates from the 1860s, with land used mainly for farming and sugar cane growing. Significant development did not occur until the post-war years, particularly from the 1970s. Rapid population growth took place from the early 1990s, with the population nearly trebling between 1991 and 2011 as large numbers of new dwellings were added to the area.

Narangba includes rapidly developing residential areas, rural areas, and some commercial and industrial land use.
