Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Newport in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (452 people or 14.9%)
  • Construction (332 people or 10.9%)
  • Retail Trade (279 people or 9.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,063 people in total or 35.0% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Bellmere - Moodlu employed 16.2% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.6% in Construction; and 10.7% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Newport and Bellmere - Moodlu were:
