Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Newport in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (346 females or 23.3%)
  • Education and Training (185 females or 12.4%)
  • Retail Trade (153 females or 10.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 684 females in total or 46.0% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Woodford area employed 20.6% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.9% in Education and Training; and 9.9% in Retail Trade.
