Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Margate in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (329 males or 20.6%)
  • Transport, Postal and Warehousing (137 males or 8.6%)
  • Manufacturing (127 males or 8.0%)

In combination, these three industries employed 593 males in total or 37.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Warner employed 16.6% in Construction; 6.5% in Transport, Postal and Warehousing; and 8.1% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Margate and Warner were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed in construction (20.6% compared to 16.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in education and training (4.9% compared to 2.7%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed in transport, postal and warehousing (8.6% compared to 6.5%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in public administration and safety (4.8% compared to 14.1%)
