Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Petrie in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (622 people or 14.2%)
  • Retail Trade (498 people or 11.4%)
  • Construction (459 people or 10.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 1,579 people in total or 36.2% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Cashmere - Clear Mountain employed 14.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 8.8% in Retail Trade; and 12.2% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Petrie and Cashmere - Clear Mountain were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (11.4% compared to 8.8%)
