Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Newport in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Construction (262 males or 17.0%)
  • Manufacturing (150 males or 9.7%)
  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (146 males or 9.5%)

In combination, these three industries employed 558 males in total or 36.2% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Bellmere - Moodlu employed 20.1% in Construction; 10.1% in Manufacturing; and 3.3% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Newport and Bellmere - Moodlu were:
