Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Hills District in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (2,156 people or 16.2%)
  • Education and Training (1,503 people or 11.3%)
  • Public Administration and Safety (1,337 people or 10.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 4,996 people in total or 37.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Albany Creek employed 16.0% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 10.8% in Education and Training; and 8.7% in Public Administration and Safety.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the Hills District and Albany Creek were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in professional, scientific and technical services (9.6% compared to 7.8%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in public administration and safety (10.1% compared to 8.7%)
  • A smaller percentage of persons employed in retail trade (7.6% compared to 9.2%)
