Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of people in the City of Moreton Bay compared to Sunshine Coast LGA shows that there was a lower proportion of people who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.7% of the population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 6.2% for Sunshine Coast LGA.
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance in Rural Planning Area and Sunshine Coast LGA were:
- A larger percentage of persons aged 85 and over (52.3% compared to 47.0%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 75 to 79 (13.4% compared to 14.7%)
- A smaller percentage of persons aged 60 to 64 (4.5% compared to 5.5%)
Emerging groups
The major differences in the age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in Rural Planning Area were in the age groups:
- 20 to 59 (+244 persons)
- 10 to 19 (+152 persons)
- 75 to 79 (+118 persons)
- 85 and over (+96 persons)
