Dominant groups
Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Moreton Bay compared to Coastal & Bribie Planning Area shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.
Overall, 4.5% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 10.7% for Coastal & Bribie Planning Area.
The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in the Hills District and Coastal & Bribie Planning Area were:
- A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (46.3% compared to 37.0%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 70 to 74 (8.8% compared to 14.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (4.9% compared to 10.4%)
- A smaller percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (11.6% compared to 16.8%)
Emerging groups
The major difference in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance between 2016 and 2021 in the Hills District was in the age group:
- 10 to 19 (+52 males)
