Dominant groups

Analysis of the need for assistance of males in the City of Moreton Bay compared to Coastal & Bribie Planning Area shows that there was a lower proportion of males who reported needing assistance with core activities.

Overall, 8.9% of the male population reported needing assistance with core activities, compared with 10.7% for Coastal & Bribie Planning Area.

The major differences in the male age groups reporting a need for assistance in Caboolture Planning Area and Coastal & Bribie Planning Area were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 85 and over (53.0% compared to 37.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 80 to 84 (32.3% compared to 23.0%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 75 to 79 (22.5% compared to 16.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 65 to 69 (13.0% compared to 10.4%)
