Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in MidCoast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (3,789 females or 22.2%)
- Professionals (3,663 females or 21.5%)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (2,994 females or 17.5%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 10,446 females in total or 61.2% of the employed female resident population.
In comparison, Regional NSW employed 19.5% in Community and Personal Service Workers; 24.2% in Professionals; and 19.2% in Clerical and Administrative Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW were:
- A larger percentage of females employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (22.2% compared to 19.5%)
- A larger percentage of females employed as Sales Workers (13.3% compared to 11.0%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Professionals (21.5% compared to 24.2%)
- A smaller percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (17.5% compared to 19.2%)

The largest changes in the occupations of female residents between 2016 and 2021 in MidCoast Council area were for those employed as:
- Community and Personal Service Workers (+930 females)
- Professionals (+554 females)
- Managers (+243 females)
- Clerical and Administrative Workers (+238 females)
