There were more male technicians and trades workers in MidCoast Council area in 2021 than any other occupation.

Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in MidCoast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (4,119 males or 24.3%)
  • Labourers (2,806 males or 16.5%)
  • Managers (2,582 males or 15.2%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,507 males in total or 56.1% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 24.1% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 13.8% in Labourers; and 16.1% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Labourers (16.5% compared to 13.8%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed as Professionals (11.7% compared to 14.3%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in MidCoast Council area increased by 1,700 between 2016 and 2021.
