Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in MidCoast Council area in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Technicians and Trades Workers (4,119 males or 24.3%)
  • Labourers (2,806 males or 16.5%)
  • Managers (2,582 males or 15.2%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 9,507 males in total or 56.1% of the employed male resident population.

In comparison, Western Rural employed 17.6% in Technicians and Trades Workers; 15.6% in Labourers; and 33.6% in Managers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of MidCoast Council area and Western Rural were:

  • A larger percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (24.3% compared to 17.6%)
  • A larger percentage of males employed as Community and Personal Service Workers (7.9% compared to 2.0%)
