Analysis of the household/family types in Northern Rural in 2021 compared to Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.8% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 10.7% were one-parent families, compared with 12.0% and 7.1% respectively for Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds.
There were a lower proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 21.9% compared to 26.2% in Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds while the proportion of couples without children was 32.3% compared to 44.0% in Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest and surrounds.
