Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of MidCoast Council area in 2021 compared to Regional NSW shows that there was a lower proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a higher proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 15.2% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 33.0% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 18.6% and 21.4% respectively for Regional NSW.

The major differences between the male age structure of MidCoast Council area and Regional NSW were:
