Dominant groups
Analysis of the family blending in Forster-Tuncurry and surrounds in 2021 compared to Tinonee - Taree South shows that there was a similar proportion of step families as well as a similar proportion of blended families. Overall, 11.9% of total couple families with children were step families, and 3.7% were blended families, compared with 11.5% and 8.8% respectively for Tinonee - Taree South.
There were a lower proportion of other families and a higher proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of other families was 0.9% compared to 3.8% in Tinonee - Taree South while the proportion of intact families was 83.5% compared to 75.8% in Tinonee - Taree South.
