Dominant groups
Analysis of the qualifications of recent overseas arrivals in the MidCoast Council in 2021 compared to the total population in the MidCoast Council shows that there was a higher proportion of people holding formal qualifications (Bachelor or higher degree; Advanced Diploma or Diploma; or Vocational qualifications), and a lower proportion of people with no formal qualifications.
Overall, 73.7% of recent overseas arrivals aged 15 and over held educational qualifications, and 22.2% had no qualifications, compared with 46.5% and 41.6% respectively for the total population in the MidCoast Council.
The major differences between qualifications held by the recent overseas arriving population of MidCoast Council area and the total population in the MidCoast Council were:
