Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in City of Mandurah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Mining (3,295 males or 17.8%)
  • Construction (3,150 males or 17.0%)
  • Manufacturing (2,054 males or 11.1%)

In combination, these three industries employed 8,499 males in total or 46.0% of the total employed male resident population.

In comparison, Peel Region employed 18.9% in Mining; 16.8% in Construction; and 12.1% in Manufacturing.

The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of the City of Mandurah and Peel Region were:

  • A smaller percentage of males employed in agriculture, forestry and fishing (1.0% compared to 2.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in mining (17.8% compared to 18.9%)
  • A smaller percentage of males employed in manufacturing (11.1% compared to 12.1%)

Emerging groups

The number of employed males in City of Mandurah increased by 2,150 between 2016 and 2021.

The largest changes in the jobs held by the male resident population between 2016 and 2021 in the City of Mandurah were for those employed in:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (+200 males)
  • Accommodation and Food Services (+192 males)
