Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in City of Mandurah in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (4,881 people or 13.5%)
  • Mining (3,935 people or 10.9%)
  • Retail Trade (3,860 people or 10.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 12,676 people in total or 35.1% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Perth employed 14.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 6.6% in Mining; and 8.9% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of the City of Mandurah and Greater Perth were:

  • A larger percentage of persons employed in mining (10.9% compared to 6.6%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in manufacturing (7.4% compared to 5.3%)
  • A larger percentage of persons employed in retail trade (10.7% compared to 8.9%)
