Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the resident population in Mount Macedon in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Professional, Scientific and Technical Services (80 people or 12.8%)
  • Health Care and Social Assistance (65 people or 10.4%)
  • Construction (59 people or 9.4%)

In combination, these three industries employed 204 people in total or 32.6% of the total employed resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 9.6% in Professional, Scientific and Technical Services; 13.5% in Health Care and Social Assistance; and 9.3% in Construction.

The major differences between the jobs held by the population of Mount Macedon and Greater Melbourne were:
