Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Lismore City in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (3,147 females or 31.3%)
  • Education and Training (1,521 females or 15.1%)
  • Retail Trade (1,243 females or 12.3%)

In combination, these three industries employed 5,911 females in total or 58.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Regional NSW employed 26.1% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 13.9% in Education and Training; and 11.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Lismore City and Regional NSW were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (31.3% compared to 26.1%)
