Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in City of Kingston in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:

  • Professionals (12,271 females or 30.6%)
  • Clerical and Administrative Workers (8,521 females or 21.3%)
  • Community and Personal Service Workers (5,798 females or 14.5%)

In combination these three occupations accounted for 26,590 females in total or 66.3% of the employed female resident population.

In comparison, Greater Melbourne employed 30.4% in Professionals; 19.1% in Clerical and Administrative Workers; and 15.4% in Community and Personal Service Workers.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of the City of Kingston and Greater Melbourne were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed as Clerical and Administrative Workers (21.3% compared to 19.1%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed as Labourers (4.3% compared to 5.7%)
