Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Waterways in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (126 females or 19.7%)
  • Retail Trade (84 females or 13.2%)
  • Education and Training (65 females or 10.2%)

In combination, these three industries employed 275 females in total or 43.1% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Chicquita Ward employed 20.7% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 11.5% in Retail Trade; and 14.8% in Education and Training.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Waterways and Chicquita Ward were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in accommodation and food services (7.7% compared to 5.7%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in retail trade (13.2% compared to 11.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in wholesale trade (4.5% compared to 3.0%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in education and training (10.2% compared to 14.8%)
