Dominant groups

An analysis of the jobs held by the female resident population in Fraser Coast Regional Council in 2021 shows the three most popular industry sectors were:

  • Health Care and Social Assistance (6,147 females or 31.9%)
  • Education and Training (2,537 females or 13.2%)
  • Retail Trade (2,437 females or 12.7%)

In combination, these three industries employed 11,121 females in total or 57.7% of the total employed female resident population.

In comparison, Toogoom employed 35.3% in Health Care and Social Assistance; 9.5% in Education and Training; and 15.3% in Retail Trade.

The major differences between the jobs held by the female population of Fraser Coast Regional Council and Toogoom were:

  • A larger percentage of females employed in education and training (13.2% compared to 9.5%)
  • A larger percentage of females employed in other services (3.9% compared to 1.4%)
  • A smaller percentage of females employed in health care and social assistance (31.9% compared to 35.3%)
