Analysis of the household/family types in Kawungan in 2021 compared to Burrum Heads shows that there was a higher proportion of couple families with child(ren) as well as a higher proportion of one-parent families. Overall, 22.3% of total families were couple families with child(ren), and 12.0% were one-parent families, compared with 9.2% and 4.0% respectively for Burrum Heads.
There were a higher proportion of lone person households and a lower proportion of couples without children. Overall, the proportion of lone person households was 25.1% compared to 22.7% in Burrum Heads while the proportion of couples without children was 34.1% compared to 49.1% in Burrum Heads.
