Dominant groups

Analysis of the male five year age groups of EMRC area in 2021 compared to the Shire of Mundaring shows that there was a higher proportion of males in the younger age groups (under 15) and a lower proportion of males in the older age groups (65+).

Overall, 20.1% of the male population was aged between 0 and 15, and 13.7% were aged 65 years and over, compared with 16.7% and 18.3% respectively for the Shire of Mundaring.

The major differences between the male age structure of EMRC area and the Shire of Mundaring were:

  • A larger percentage of males aged 0 to 4 (6.8% compared to 4.8%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 35 to 39 (8.0% compared to 6.5%)
  • A larger percentage of males aged 25 to 29 (6.9% compared to 5.3%)
