Dominant groups
The size of the Town of Bassendean's labour force in 2021 was 8,509, of which 2,740 were employed part-time and 4,955 were full time workers.
Analysis of the employment status (as a percentage of the labour force) in the Town of Bassendean in 2021 compared to EMRC area shows that there was a similar proportion in employment, as well as a similar proportion unemployed. Overall, 95.2% of the labour force was employed, and 4.8% unemployed, compared with 94.9% and 5.1% respectively for EMRC area.
Analysis of the labour force participation rate of the population in the Town of Bassendean in 2021 shows that there was a lower proportion in the labour force (64.8%) compared with EMRC area (65.8%).
