Dominant groups
An analysis of the jobs held by the male resident population in Northcote in 2021 shows the three most popular occupations were:
- Professionals (2,953 males or 41.8%)
- Managers (1,301 males or 18.4%)
- Technicians and Trades Workers (826 males or 11.7%)
In combination these three occupations accounted for 5,080 males in total or 72.0% of the employed male resident population.
In comparison, Victoria employed 21.4% in Professionals; 16.5% in Managers; and 20.3% in Technicians and Trades Workers.
The major differences between the jobs held by the male population of Northcote and Victoria were:
- A larger percentage of males employed as Professionals (41.8% compared to 21.4%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Technicians and Trades Workers (11.7% compared to 20.3%)
- A smaller percentage of males employed as Machinery Operators And Drivers (3.1% compared to 9.9%)
